In 1971, Grissom men's soccer became the first high school soccer program in the city of Huntsville, AL. Grissom became a charter member of the Dixie Soccer Conference in 1974, and was the inaugural conference champion. In 1975, Grissom won the first Huntsville City Championship and when the Alabama High School Athletic Association (AHSAA) sanctioned soccer in 1991, Grissom was the state runner-up.
Over its proud history, Grissom has compiled 8 AHSAA state championships, 9 District Sub-state championships, 2 Dixie Cup championships and 13 Huntsville city championships. The tradition of excellence continues today.
