Falcons 2, Tigers 1; Grissom's season ends at Florence

A large home crowd cheered the Falcons to a First Round play-off victory over Grissom on Monday, 29 April bringing an abrupt end to the Tiger season. Grissom looked firmly in control when Aiden Cleary scored in the 3rd minute, and Finn Bjelke and Cleary both had excellent chances within the first ten minutes. The early success ended in the 21st minute of the first half, when the center ref awarded Florence a Penalty Kick, one of 14 fouls that he would call against the Tigers in the first half. The Falcons second goal would come with 45 seconds left in the first half after another foul call just outside the box. The 14 first half calls surpassed Grissom's average per game during the season and doubled the six calls whistled against Florence. Neither team was able to score in the second half as Florence played defensively and substituted liberally. Florence's goals came on 8 shots, 5 on goal and 3 corners. Grissom took 8 shots, 3 on goal and had 2 corners. Grissom finishes at 17-5-2 for the season.
