Grissom 1, Hewitt 0: Farmer Free Kick Enough for Grissom
Grissom defeated Hewitt-Trussville 1-0 in the Tiger's first area game. The 7A Section 7 area includes Huntsville and Gadsden along with Grissom and Hewitt. Two of the four teams make the play-offs. Grissom controlled the game with 22 shots and 8 corners. The Grissom defenders, Yousef Yasser, Sean Farkas, Peter Anthony, and Andrew Weir limited Hewitt to 11 shots and 2 corners. Kai Snodgrass recorded 6 saves. Lucas Farmer scored the winning goal in the 24th minute of the second half on a perfectly placed free kick just outside the penalty box. The Tiger's first elected to play the ball quickly, but the referee stopped play. The Tiger dissent ended as the Farmer shot hit the net securing the Area win. The Tigers move to 4-3-3 on the season.
