Grissom 2, James Clemens 1: Tigers advance to elite 8
Grissom defeated James Clemens 2-1 in the first round of the Alabama 7A Soccer Play-offs at Grissom High School. The Jets took the lead in the 18th minute and held it until the 26th minute of the second half. Kevin Dong followed a David Siaw shot to tie the score at 1-1. Seven minutes later, Finn Bjelke headed a Wendell Giolo cross into the net to send the Tigers to the Elite 8. Grissom took 26 shots and had 9 corners. James Clemens took 4 shots and had 4 corners. Grissom travels to Vestavia Saturday night for the second round match-up.
