Grissom 2, Sparkman 0; Tigers earn play-off bid
Grissom defeated Sparkman 2-0 at Sparkman Middle School on 15 April. Though picturesque, the Senator alternate site supported their defensive strategy. Sparkman packed ten in the box for much of the evening, a box that was only a few yards from the sideline. Measuring less than 100 yards from end to end and less than 50 across, the field stymied Grissom's attack. Ultimately, Grissom was able to leverage their possession advantage earning two (tax free) penalties inside the box. Ben Smith chose correctly both times against the diving Senator keeper. Grissom took 28 shots on the night with 9 on goal and had 6 corners. Sparkman took 9 shots with 3 on goal and had 2 corners.
