Grissom defeated Putnam City North from Oklahoma City, Oklahoma 4-1 in the first game of the Southern Soccer Challenge. Coming off Spring Break, the Tigers started slowly. Putnam scored off a set piece at the 7 minute mark and took the 1-0 lead into half time. Grissom came out strong in the second half with Aiden Cleary scoring within the first 3 minutes and again in the 20th minute to make it 2-1. Two minutes later, Fin Bjelke executed a Ronaldo-like bicycle twelve yards out to earn the applause of the rain-soaked crowd. Wendell Giolo passed to Peter Anthony whose 25 yard blast beat the Panther goalie and cemented the 4-1 win. Grissom finished with 14 shots and 3 corners. Putnam had 17 shots and 5 corners. Kai Snodgrass saved 8/9 Shots. Grissom advances to play Pebblebrook from Mableton, GA.
