Grissom 7, John Paul II 1; Smith hat trick ignites Tiger offense
Grissom defeated JP II 7-1 at the University of Alabama at Huntsville on another unseasonably cold night. James Balogun scored three minutes in to set the tone for the night, but neither team scored for the remainder of the half. Balogun made it 2-0 in the 2nd minute of the second half with the now familiar attacking run from the left to the near post and left-footed strike to the far post. Less than a minute later, Ben Smith settled an Andrew Burns cross to score the first of his three. Aiden Cleary and Kai Snodgrass also scored for Grissom. Normally the Tiger keeper, Kai moved to the midfield for his birthday and scored his second goal of the season. Grissom took 22 shots with 6 corners. The Falcons took 9 shots with 1 corner.
